College Application
Students may apply to colleges/universities/community colleges or vocational/technical schools by paper or online. Follow these steps for college application.
- Apply either by paper application or online.
- Take the entrance exam as required by the college. ACT or SAT for 4-year Colleges/Universities. COMPASS (or similar test) for Community College and/or Vocational Technical College.
- Request the Guidance Office to send your official transcript to the college or university.
- Make sure to pay the entrance fee by check or credit/debit card as required.
- Watch for your acceptance letter by mail or email (depending on how you applied).

Transcript Request from NCC
If you have received college credits from taking classes at Northwest Iowa Community College or dual enrolled classes at Sheldon High School, you will need the NCC Transcript Request Form. (If you are currently enrolled in a course, you may wish to wait until the semester is completed). The form is available in the Guidance Office. A $5.00 fee per transcript is required (checks made out to NCC).
